Can you lose weight in 2 weeks?
This is a common question that I get asked almost daily. People want to lose weight and they want to lose it at a seemingly alarming rate. We will dive into the weight loss possibilities on a short-term schedule of just 2 weeks! Buckle up, it's going to be an interesting ride.
How do I lose weight?
Losing weight is a simple science and it always has been. If you burn off more calories than you consume, you will lose weight and visa-versa. However, some unforeseen factors may play a role in your weight loss journey. Factors like genetics, metabolism, and activity level all play a major role.

How much weight can I expect to lose?
The general rule of thumb is that you can expect to lose 2 pounds a week if you stick to a strict diet, exercise and sleeping regime. However, the average person will only lose 1 pound a week on average.
At a push, a person could lose 2KG in 2 weeks (4.4 pounds) but no more than this if it is to be healthy. Starving yourself will result in your body holding onto the weight for survival purposes. If you do manage to lose any weight when starving yourself, you'll put it straight back on when you do eat and you'll also make yourself very ill.
What about the other factors?
Some of the other factors you can control, others not so much. For instance, your activity level is controllable. The amount of exercise you dedicate to your lifestyle will directly correlate to the amount of weight you can lose.
Another factor is sleep. For most people, sleep is a controllable factor. We have an entire article dedicated to how sleep can aid in recovery, and subsequentially weight-loss.
The factors you cannot control should not be of your concern because there is nothing you can do about them. For instance, you cannot change your genetic makeup, as far as I'm aware...

You can lose a lot of weight in 2 weeks, enough to make a physical difference. The real question is can you stick to a strict diet, workout and sleep regime to pull it off? This is where we can help! We have an easy-to-follow workout already made for you, head on over and give it a go!
